Blackwinged Messiah
(lyrics: Sorath / music: Alastor)

Recorded in RehearseHell, January '07
Split-
single with Urgehal

Pressed
in 1000 copies on gatefold-7", with 2 posters,
released by
BS Prod in July 2007

REVIEW:
"Two of the most exciting bands in the Norwegian Black Metal scene at the moment. Urgehal, the senior band of the two and one
I am sure you will be familiar with. Their brand of rousing melodic Black Metal is set in equal measure between raw fast parts and up-lifting
guitar jams. Beastcraft, are just astute disciples in their deployment of cadaverous brooding Hell rooted Metal.Beastcraft offer a wonderfully
atmospheric track in the form of Blackwinged Messiah. Here we find a band enriched by a unique style, flowing through a ghoulish artery
of bloodless pale atmosphere. Beastcraft are unashamedly locked to the scenes very early awakenings. The music is one dimensional,
beautifully veiled in trance-inducing rhythms, and completely shrouded in a caliginous atmosphere.
Urgehal, offer a more stripped down version of what they usually do. The track Nekromisantrop, is an up-beat-mid tempo track that is
pretty much as basic and Hell born as can be expected. Urgehal have the experience and the tightness to hold a track together and decimate
the skull to bone dust, but it is Beastcraft who have the ability to generate a truly chilling atmosphere and by doing so, captivate the mind
with a menace rarely aroused nowadays.
This is a magnificent EP, featuring two very impressive bands."

Celebration of Christ's Death
(lyrics: Alastor / music: Alastor)
Resurrection through Desecration and Churchfire
(lyrics: Sorath / music: Alastor)

Recorded in Leviasathanas Studios, September '06
Split-EP with
Orcrist.

Pressed
in 666 copies on black vinyl and 100 on pic disc,
released by
Temple of Darkness Records in February 2007

REVIEW:
"
Displayed in a wonderful gatefold with either normal vinyl or pic disc, here is the stuff of the true underground, a place I am most at home with.
Each band contributes two tracks wrought with misanthropic bile. The whole package and the bands reek of a stale, morbid abyss where
Black Metal in its most purest forms wallow in the harrowing icy mists of hatred.
Beastcraft are one of the best Norwegian bands around at the moment, they create the bleak brilliance of Darkthrone when they were at their
most relevant back in the mid nineties. With all the rawness of, Under a Funeral Moon era Black Metal, Beastcraft display a chilling aptitude for
miasmic atmospheres. The two tracks here are separated into a short blasting tracks, and a more refined, yet equally violating all the laws of Moses
with ease. The great title of, The Celebration of Christ’s Death, is pure genius.
Orcrist, play a similar form of raw to the meat Black Metal, although maybe harnessing a greater willingness to diversify their musical
repertoire. We have a droning, Strid like track, and a more Burzum set of rhythms adding greater depth and purpose to the EP."

REVIEW:
"All of the tracks presented here are of excellent quality and will, no doubt, motivate me to investigate further some of the bands that I wasn’t familiar with prior to obtaining this compilation. That, of course, is the whole point of a compilation and “Norsk Svart Metall” comes highly recommended. Buy or die."
